At first, all I could feel was vibrations in my feet, then, a low rumble that seemed to shake the entire ship. It grew louder until it was almost deafening. The ship lurched to one side, and I instinctively reached for the nearest post—despite the flames that crawled up it. There was a screeching sound that seemed to come from everywhere… And then I was on my back. The wood splintered as it crashed around me. The room flooded with water. Then I saw it: a tentacle the size of a ship’s mast crashed through the room, obliterating everything in sight. But I was ready for this! I knew the Kraken was in these waters. So I took up my axe and pushed my way toward the treasure…
When playing with The Kraken, the game-play remains the same as Dead Men Tell No Tales, with the following exceptions: A new threat has emerged from the sea! In order to win the game, in addition to getting the treasure and your pirates off the ship, you must also kill the Kraken. If the Kraken destroys the ship or pulls it underwater, you lose the game.
There is no less competition between men than between ants! Who can raise the biggest army? Who can store the most resources? Gathering and territory building are the key words of this game. Each player must develop their ant nest, recruit specialists and soldiers, and amass as much food as possible.
Plan wisely, for only one nest can dominate this small, underground world!
In 1867, the last feudal Japanese military government, Edo bakufu, returned the governing power back to Emperor Meiji; however, Oniwaban, a group of undercover spies, was still being employed by the military government, secretly protecting the Shogun and collecting valuable intelligence. They disguised their appearances, and formed their headquarters near the famous street in Kyoto, Hanamikoji. In 1878, with the help of several skilled female agents, Oniwaban assassinated the secretary of state at the time, posing a serious threat to the Meiji government.
Frustrated by the existence of Oniwaban, Meiji government fought back by creating an intelligence agency of their own. Combining government funding with the advanced chronology of the Western Industrial Revolution such as electrical stun weapons, missile defense systems and covert wireless listening devices turned the tide of the game heavily crippling the Oniwaban.
The fight lasted for several decades until the economic depression Japan suffered after World War I in 1927. Instability grew and Oniwaban was more active than ever. After months of secret investigation, the key file responsible for all the advanced technology was finally uncovered. At the same time, the location of Oniwaban’s headquarters was also discovered by the government.
Each side having learned of the intelligence possessed by the other has brought the conflict to a conclusion, but who will win? Only you can decide…
The country of La Guerre des Moutons (the war of sheep) is full of fields and forests. There are sheep in the fields and wolves and hunters in the forests. Each player tries to make the largest pens with his own sheep inside by placing his own tiles. You can easily close small pens, or you can be ambitious and try to build large farms… but if you cannot enclose the fields, your sheep are likely to be eaten by the big bad wolves roaming in the nearby forests. Each player’s animal is secret at the beginning of the game, but the soonest you reveal it, the more points you get.
