Dungeon Raiders

Players 3 – 5          Ages 8+           20mins

In Dungeon Raiders each player takes the role of a different adventurer. You will have to join forces to survive the dungeon, but only one of you will get out with the most treasure and win the game.

The dungeon is different each time you play, so its dangers like deadly traps and terrible monsters will always surprise you on your path to swag and riches. After pushing your luck to gain the most treasure, the adventurers will face the strongest and most horrendous boss monster!

This new release of Dungeon Raiders sees major changes. The wound system no longer counts down from a wound total instead players will gain wounds as the day goes on. This has removed player elimination so no player is out of the game until the very end.

The dungeon set up has also changed in this new edition. No longer do players have to shuffle half the face up into the half face down. It is now based on a separate dungeon deck that shows players which cards to have face up, and which cards will be face down.

The Pillars of Earth

Players 2 – 4             Ages 12+            90 to 120mins

The setting is England at the beginning of the 12th century. The construction of what is to be the greatest and most beautiful cathedral in England begins. Builders compete against each other to contribute the most to this cathedral’s construction and, in so doing, score the most victory points. To play the game, first players must use workers to procure raw building materials, and then use craftsmen to refine the materials into victory points. What actions will you take on your path to victory? Will you seek an audience with the king perhaps, to get to the metal you need? Or should you avail yourself of the support of influential personalities? A brief stay in the monastery could be as beneficial to you as strong ties to your craftsmen. Your workers may also be used to produce gold, the currency of the game. Players are given three master builders each turn, each of which can do a variety of tasks, including recruiting more workers, buying or selling goods, or directly obtaining victory points. Getting early choices with a master builder costs gold, as does purchasing more capable craftsmen. Players must strike a balance between earning gold to fund their purchases and earning victory points. Transport yourself to Medieval England as described by Ken Follett in his best-selling masterpiece novel, Pillars of the Earth.

Imhotep

Platers 2 – 4           Ages 10+          40mins

Imhotep. The legendary architect of the Egyptian monuments. His awe-inspiring structures and brutal tactics earned him divine status among ancient Egyptians. Can you match his ruthless determination to build the most revered monuments?

To do this, you will need to transport stone blocks on ships from your quarry to different construction sites. But you alone do not choose where the ships go. Your opponents have monumental plans of their own and want to prevent your success. A fierce competition for the precious stone resources plays out. Only with the right strategy and a little luck can you succeed.

In Imhotep, the players take on the roles of ancient Egyptian architects. Over six rounds, they try to transport their stone blocks to end up in the most valuable positions at five construction sites: pyramid, obelisk, chamber tomb, temple, and market. But a player can only choose one of three actions in a turn: excavate a new stone block from the quarry, load a block onto a ship, or move a ship to a construction site. From there, the massive stone blocks must be unloaded in order from bow to stern and placed on the sites in pre-set sequences. Depending on where the blocks end up, players earn different point values either immediately or at the end of the game.

In each turn, you must weigh your options for getting your own stones into place and thwarting your opponents’ placement plans. You must get your blocks to the right places, in the right order, at the right time to be the greatest architect.
