Microbrewers: Brewcrafters Travel Card Game

Player 2 – 4          Ages 14+           30mins

There are three main differences between the new Microbrewers and the original Brew Crafters Travel Card Game.

First, we’ve added two new card types: The Research Lab and the Tasting Room. The Research Lab encourages you to brew specialty beers that use fruit and coffee and balances out the number of worker and equipment cards in the game.

The Tasting Room scores you end-game points for having a variety of different ingredients showing on your brewery upgrades. Adding these two new card types means you’ll see a greater variety of cards in your hand, making the decision about which card to play on each turn more interesting.

Second, instead of passing being the third option for the main action of your turn, you now have the option to draw 1 additional card, meaning you can add 3 cards to your hand on your turn instead of 2. This can be crucial late in the game, giving you the 1 additional card you need to make an epic brew or install a critical brewery upgrade on your last turn.

Third, the game lasts one additional round. Now, when the game’s end is triggered, players finish the final round and play one more full round. This provides a more satisfying feeling of completion. It allows you to better plan for the end of the game and avoids the game ending abruptly without giving you the chance to take a final turn.

Architects of the West Kingdom

Players 1 – 5          Ages 12+          60 to 80mins

Architects of the West Kingdom is set at the end of the Carolingian Empire, circa 850 AD. As royal architects, players compete to impress their King and maintain their noble status by constructing various landmarks throughout his newly appointed domain. Players will need to collect raw materials, hire apprentices and keep a watchful eye on their workforce. These are treacherous times. Rival architects will stop at nothing to slow your progress. Will you remain virtuous, or be found in the company of thieves and black marketeers?

The aim of Architects of the West Kingdom is to be the player with the most Victory Points (VP) at the game’s end. Points are gained by constructing various Buildings and advancing work on the Archbishop’s Cathedral. Throughout the game, players will need to make a lot of moral decisions. However, only at the game’s end will their virtue be judged. A few underhanded deals here and there might not seem like much, but fall too far and you will be punished. The game ends once a set number of constructions have been completed.

Prêt-à-Porter

Players 2 – 4            Ages 10+           90mins

Flashing cameras, beautiful models, and shows crowded with critics. The life of a fashion industry professional sounds exciting – and it is – but most people don’t know how fierce the competition can get. As the owner of an up–and–coming company hoping to showcase its work in the most prestigious international shows, you need to prove that you have what it takes to succeed in this unforgiving environment.

Prêt–à–Porter is an economic strategy game in which you will manage a company trying to succeed in the world of fashion. The game plays out over a year consisting of 12 rounds (months), divided into 4 Quarters, each ending with a Fashion show. To prepare well for a Fashion show you will need to sign the contracts, expand the company with additional buildings, hire new workers to increase efficiency, and create exciting new designs. It’s not as easy as it sounds. Each round, you must pay the Upkeep cost associated with your company – salaries for your workers and rent for your buildings. Banks and last resort companies can lend you some Cash if necessary, but you should avoid these desperate measures, as they increase the costs of running your business.

The game revolves around international fashion shows – special Show rounds in which all players present their Collections and compete for awards. Each Show round – four during the game – is preceded by two Working rounds when you prepare for the Shows.

In every Working round, 3 new Contract cards, 3 new Building cards, and 3 new Employee cards are revealed. These are your means to expand your business, invest in your company and develop a long-time strategy.

Signing a new Contract grants you benefits with no ongoing costs. It is a powerful way to increase your company’s capabilities, but contracts expire during the game. They are very beneficial, but they won’t add to your long-time strategy as much as new Building cards will.

Renting or building new facilities is expensive and can be a financial burden, but the ongoing benefits are substantial.

Hiring Employees offers good value for a reasonable cost – they can make a difference and give your company the edge, provided you have enough workspace for them.

In addition, you will race for trendy new Design cards, buy fabric and materials from different sources (always looking for the best quality and price), arrange financing at the Bank, and make use of other locations as you prepare for the next Show round.

During the Show round, each player presents their Collection, which are then judged in four different categories. Winning an award raises your company’s Prestige and, what’s more, allows you to sell your Collection for a much higher price.

Your overall goal is to lead your company to prosperity by showcasing the best Collections during Fashion Shows and selling them with a high margin afterward. When running your business you need to balance income with the cost of preparing the Collection and the Upkeep costs of your company. Fashion Shows generate Prestige, giving you Victory Points and increasing the sale value of the Collection. After 12 rounds the player who gathered the highest combined total of Cash and Victory Points has the most prosperous company and wins the game.

Dragon Keepers (Kickstarter Ed)

Players 1 – 6          Ages 6+         10 to 40mins

Dragon Keepers is a game representing a battle between two powerful forces. The first is a group of evil hunters who want to destroy dragons for trophies and fame. The other group is the heroic dragon keepers who protect and train the dragons. Each player represents the chief of a specific tribe of dragon keepers who will defend the dragons from attacks by the evil hunters at all cost!

In Dragon Keepers, there are 2 different modes of gameplay. Both modes are played over several rounds until players have reached a game ending condition. The game modes are the following:

Keeper Mode

A light competitive game using “push your luck” mechanisms, which takes 10-15 minutes and plays from 3 to 6 players. This mode is a lighter version of the game intended for younger children. The goal for each player is to heroically defend 3 different dragons from the evil hunter.

Dragon Mode

A cooperative game which takes 30-40 minutes and plays from 2 to 4 players. This mode requires a bit more strategic thinking and is more suited for adults and older children. The goal for the players is to train a predetermined number of dragons and have them successfully attack the Hunter.

Keepers

The Keepers have vowed to protect the dragons. In both game modes, players will choose a Keeper deck to play the game with. Keeper decks have a unique colored tribe symbol on the back of the card. The front of the card represents a Keeper from each different tribe. For example, the Red Keeper deck will have a Keeper from each color (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, and White).

Each card in a player?s Keeper deck represents an individual dragon keeper which will protect one type of dragon from attacks made by the hunter. For example, a purple dragon keeper can only protect a purple dragon.

Dragons

The dragons in the game are powerful untamed magical creatures that always start the game with the Friendly side of their Dragon tile face up. In the Keeper game, the dragons are younger and will never be flipped to their Trained side. In the Dragon game, the dragons are older and keepers can train them which flips the tile to the trained side. Both Friendly and Trained sides of a Dragon tile will have a number of Heart symbols in the upper left corner. The hearts represent the Life of the dragon and also the number of attacks the dragon can receive before they are defeated.

Magic

The world of Dragon Keepers is a mystical place. The keepers have harnessed magical powers by using special items and spells. Players will receive Magic cards as a reward for defending or healing the dragons. Magic cards allow a player to take a powerful independent second action during their turn.

A set of Player Mats are included with game for free!
